Wolverine! [May. 4th, 2009|12:18 am]
The movie was very well done. Not the feel-good movie of the year, of course ;)

You can get the feel-good from the musical version, though - http://www.dailymotion.com/user/indymogul/video/x94ihy_wolverine-movie-leaked-the-musical_shortfilms

I love Spidey, and I love musicals, but the two together?

LiveJournal Strikes Back! [Jan. 9th, 2009|06:50 pm]
http://news.livejournal.com/112503.html
So LiveJournal says reports of their doom are widely exaggerated. Really, this is the sort of thing press releases were invented for. Better to pre-empt the news, at least on your own community news group, rather than have to respond to it.

In Soviet Russia, Livejournal posts on You! [Jan. 7th, 2009|09:04 pm]
Not to be a doom-sayer, but it's good to keep abreast of these things.

Getting Media from a Linux Computer to the PS3 [Jan. 5th, 2009|07:11 pm]
http://linuxowns.wordpress.com/2008/04/28/stream-media-from-ubuntu-to-your-ps3/

I knew there would have to be a way to get this going, so I googled up these handy instructions.  Now, I don't have to use my PSP as an intermediary anymore.

Of course, any time you start up a server you're adding security issues.  I try to minimize potential problems by running behind a hardware firewall, and in this case by only running the mediatomb server when I need to copy files off.

Doctor Who? [Dec. 31st, 2008|04:22 am]
Fellow Doctor Who fans, I note in case you have forgotten (as I did briefly) that the Christmas special, The Next Doctor, aired this past Thursday (Christmas) in the UK.

I further note that the next special, Planet of the Dead, will air at Easter. (Easter is April 12th, I looked it up).

Hmm, the Dead and Easter...

PS3 = Awesome [Dec. 20th, 2008|03:22 am]
OMG you guys, the PS3 is killa-sweet.

Seriously, it is. Like tonight, the information (playstation ad) ticker mentioned Jeopardy being on sale for $9.99. Well, it was actually $14.99, but I still bought it, and it is sweet. (Though I wish they had made Alex Trebek read all the clues).

Besides that, it is sweet for downloading demos, purchasing various games, playing the new games for teh 3rd gen consolez, and, perhaps most importantly, watching videos, YouTube or otherwise.

I used sweet too much in this post. Dear English language, please except accept my apology for forsaking your vocabulary.

Oh, and high-speed internet is definitely key to the PS3 experience, in my opinion.  And a high-def monitor for accessing the Store or other things with tiny text.
